Discovery Lab Application
The Discovery Lab Digital Workbench is the main piece of the Discovery Lab branding project. This is the online applicaiton that coordinates with the physical digital microscope students will use in the classroom.
Our task with this phase of the project was to create the look and feel design as well as provide the CSS code for the online application (WorkBench) itself. The challenge with this project was in working with their government contracted developers who had started the actual application development six months earlier using a non-mainstream CMS platform. This meant that we had very rigid templates within which to create our designs. In the end, we had to design for the template development, instead of the preferred method of developing to the design. Nonetheless, we did a great job of cleaning up the the look and feel of the design and layout.
