16toads launches new site design ... Again

Yessir, once again, we’ve launched a new site.  Why?  Well, we like to punish ourselves with additional work and we aren’t ever satisfied.  Fact is: our last design was lacking in a lot of ways and we wanted to add a CMS platform that would help us manage our content in a much cleaner fashion.  We’ve been pounding away at this for a while during the pre-rooster hours of the morning when our phone isn’t ringing, and we finally have a nearly-finished product we actually believe represents the best of who we are as design professionals. 

The entire site is powered by Expression Engine, which we found after exhaustive research for the best CMS option available and less-than-positive experiences with other popular open-source CMS platforms.  We couldn’t be happier with the result.  Our design solution is clean and elegant and can be managed easily through a web-based interface that can be accessed from any wireless hot-spot.  Behind the scenes EE has given us the ability to create dynamic pages and dynamically updated lists, as well as add a blog for our news, projects, and articles.  The architecture and data structure we developed provides us with an effortless means of updating content in specific locations on every page of the site. A nice bonus.

That said, we aren’t quite finished yet and have a few programming puzzles to solve before we can add the last of our content.  The Our Work (portfolio) section is still under scaffolding, but once we finish the coding for this section we will have a much more effective presentation area in which to display our creative solutions.

This latest incarnation of 16toads.com will improve our image, user-experience, accessibility, extensibility, and finally ... give us piece of mind.
