Extinct Primate ReDiscovered
Researchers trolling the lush mountaintop rain forest of a remote Indonesian island recently rediscovered a primate long thought to be extinct.
The Pygmy Tarsier is one of the world's smallest and, now, rarest primates.
I can fully appreciate why the three tarsiers the researchers captured weren't too happy about being discovered and consequently forced to accept the addition of a tracking collar to their otherwise furry wardrobe. I hate wearing ties and my wife will attest to my uncontrollable urge to bite anyone who forces me to wear one.
As exciting as the news is, the question that begs to be asked is this ... "Why the hell can't humans leave other creatures alone?". The simple act of this momentous rediscovery places these animals in serious peril of re-extinction.
Good luck tarsiers. You will need it.
